Tōkyō tawā

Long time tribe members (Harrisites) will know of my Japanese fascination, which is likely why Simon's Undercover in Japan is such a firm favourite of mine.

"With 333 meters, Tokyo Tower is 13 meters taller than its model, the Eiffel Tower of Paris, and the world's tallest self-supporting steel tower. It was completed in the year 1958 as a symbol for Japan's rebirth as a major economic power, and serves as a television and radio broadcast antenna and tourist attraction."

Yellow

Monday Yellow to be more precise:

Yellow, Abstract Art by Deceptive Media

An omnibus across the bridge
Crawls like a yellow butterfly,
And, here and there, a passer-by
Shows like a little restless midge.

Big barges full of yellow hay
Are moored against the shadowy wharf,
And, like a yellow silken scarf,
The thick fog hangs along the quay.

The yellow leaves begin to fade
And flutter from the Temple elms,
And at my feet the pale green Thames
Lies like a rod of rippled jade.

Phase Four: Monday Yellow and Red Thursday

I address you here today to make a proclamation: Within the realm of Sirharris.com the names Monday and Thursday will be deemed blasphemous unless prefixed/suffixed in the following format.

Monday Yellow
If your week starts like the majority of humanity gentle reader, then you need the warming flare of the colour yellow. Consider myself your doctor of asthetics as I apply colour science to your Monday routine. Don't fear, this will not involve reference to "Bezold-Brücke hue shift" or "Chromatic response functions", it will involve energising yellow, and pleasant pictures for your weary eyes.

Red Thursday
In my calendar, Thursday sums up the building of passions. Passion without either the freedom of Friday or the delay of Wednesday. This day is a red day, and we are blessed with a world that loves the colour red.

So, if you in an office using a 1980s monochrome monitor put up with it no more, and if you are colour-blind and considering curing that Tritanopia, here is your motivation. Enjoy the colours.

Lenscape Foliage

It's the midpoint in our newly unveiling week, void equally either side separating us from the intensity of the weekend. It seems only fitting to distract ourselves with something beautiful therefore. This is by Lenscape, found amidst a deluge of excellent photography, entitled In The Sun:

All Aboard

Thank you, we can now resume activities. As you can see, Sirharris.com has a new look, which I hope you like. Also, as you can't see, there is a new server behind the scenes. If only for the sake of progress we must all endeavour to drag ourselves ever forward. Feel free to consider this site my attempt in furthering our online evolution.

Now let us get straight back to business with the following vista from Helman, named "Landing on water":

Transitory

Just to explain any potential loss of contact, Sirharris.com is in the process of transportation to a lovely new server.
No, you do not have to do anything. I, on the other hand, have a great deal of changes to make, so please be patient and we'll all catch up again soon.

A Leadership Revolution

A frequent favourite of mine is ChangeThis, an open forum where free-thinkers can present their views, the goal being to create a platform for unhindered discussion.

I know a specific relevance with several of you for the manifesto I read today:
Article 19.05 - Why Your Boss is Programmed to be a Dictator

Grounded in reality, it both describes the problem and offers practical information, assisting understanding and restricting damaging effects. It could likely be a wise use of a little of your Thursday.

Recap: High Day

Congratulations, we have now completed our forth biannual photo feature - High Day. The premise was typically simple: I consider a Friday to be a very positive day - let's find photography that fits with that mindset.

I'd like to share some comments on this project in closing:
Firstly I am pleased to have themed the "Illumination Trilogy", around three events on respective weeks: Father's Day, the Summer solstice and American Independance Day. That was fortunate to synchronise with the schedule and something I specifically enjoyed. I feel somewhat uneasy with the inclusion of two "landscapes" amidst what is largely a mass of exagerated colour. Do you not regard them to be out of character in this collection? - perhaps instead, you feel the paint plus wall combination to be the outsider here - I'm curious, it isn't a test.
