Modern Wonder 2: CN Tower

Here is our second of Seven Modern Wonders - The CN Tower, in Toronto, Canada:

Started in 1973 to demonstrate the sheer might of Canadian Industry, 1'537 workers were involved, working 24 hours a day. Just 40 months later On June 26, 1976, the tallest free-standing structure (on land) was completed at 553.33 metres (or 1'815 feet).

Today 2 million people come to see this fantastic example of modern engineering:
