Round the world we travel in pursuit of architecture and decoration dedicated to a love of the Lord. For short it is referred to as a Holy Day. Today we arrive in Budapest to admire the Moorish-Byzantine delights of the Central Synagogue (Nagy Zsinagóga), captured by Meaduva:

What a splendid building.

I love all of the last three images, and all for different reasons - the serenity of the statue, the fascination that candles have for me and the roccoco wildness of the architecture in this post.
I am constantly astounded by the different ways that people demonstrate worship: growing up in a C of E 'low church' in a rural area, everything was really stripped back and restrained - but I love candles and the grandness of this particular Byzantine effort.

Thank you Ally, your support has been constant and your input is always much appreciated. Today has been a trying day, and to read just one person enjoying anything I am involved in is like nectar.
Take care.
